Adam Louis Stelzer, O.D.

Dr. Adam Stelzer is the medical director of South Beach Vision, clinical director of the Laser Center of Coral Gables and externship director for Aran Eye Associates. Dr. Stelzer was born and raised in Bradenton Florida. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Florida with a bachelors degree in natural health sciences. He attended optometry school at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale where he graduated with honors with a second bachelors degree in vision science and his doctorate of optometry. Dr. Stelzer holds active state licenses in Florida as well as New York. He is nationally board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Stelzer's expertise lies in the treatment and management of ocular disease and co-management of ophthalmic surgery. Since graduating optometry school he has specialized in refractive laser and implantable lens procedures.

Dr. Stelzer has successfully counseled and managed thousands of laser vision correction and implantable lens patients. As medical director of South Beach Vision he see an array of eye issues. This consists of the prescribing of contact lenses and eyeglasses to triaging serious ocular and medical emergencies. As TLC clinical director, he oversees the clinical aspects of refractive surgery and manages all the pre and post-operative patient care. He is currently involved in an ACOS corneal cross linking FDA study as a clinical investigator. Dr. Stelzer is an adjunct professor and directs his practice’s ocular disease externship program for several optometry schools across the country. He also frequently lectures on various topics around south Florida and at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.

Dr. Stelzer is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association (Board Trustee), the Miami Dade Optometric Physicians Association (Past-President), the Optometric Cross Linking Society (Board Member) and the Optometric Council on Refractive Technology. He was named Young Optometrist of the Year in 2012 by his colleagues in the FOA.
When not seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies include exploring Miami Beach, running, kayaking, and traveling.
